Q.What is an airwash?
A.The Airwash system is designed to help keep the glass on your stove clean and more see through by reducing tar deposits on the window when fuel is burnt.
Airwash stoves take in air from outside the stove and pass (or 'wash') it over the surface of the window. This helps keeps the flames and gasses in the stove away from the glass as there is a layer of air protecting it.
Airwash also helps with double combustion, drawing the smoke back across the flames and burning off more impurities before it travels up the flue pipe.
Q.Can I use a stove in a smoke control area?
A.In some areas you are not allowed to burn fuel that emits smoke, this is called a smoke control area. You are permitted to burn smokeless fuel on a multifuel stove in these areas.
