Pen y Bryn Trading is a family run business based in North Wales UK.

We have over 10 years experience in the stove industry and have extensive knowledge of our product ranges.

Here at Pen y Bryn Trading we pride ourselves in offering an excellent customer orientated service offering advice on both wood burning and multi fuel stoves, and our range of picnic benches which we manufacture ourselves on site ensuring the highest possible standards of quality and piece of mind for our customers.

Our showroom is based at our family farm in a purpose built stable conversion enabling us to display our products to those customers who wish to touch and feel the product in a traditional way before committing to a purchase.

We also understand that technology allows us to bring our products to consumers throughout the UK and strive to offer our products at a competitive rate available for shipping to their door.

We are a HETAS registered company and offer a local survey and fitting service.

What is HETAS?

HETAS is the official body recognised by the government to approve solid fuel domestic heating appliances, fuels and services.

HETAS Ltd. In conjunction with the solid fuel association has introduced a registration scheme for engineers and companies working in the domestic solid fuel market.

The objective for that scheme is to ensure that any consumer wishing to have a new appliance can contact a contractor who employs competent engineers.

Why would I use a HETAS registered engineer?

Most installations of solid fuel and wood biomass appliances and systems are subject to the requirements of Building Regulations and are notifiable to the Local Authority in your area by law. HETAS registered installers can self-certificate their work thus avoiding the need for costly and time consuming Building Notice applications to the local Building Control Department.

HETAS Registered Businesses leave the customer with a Compliance Certificate and send a copy to HETAS for onward notification to the Local Authority. This is a simple and effective process costing a few pounds whereas the local authority Building Notice can cost hundreds of pounds in some cases.

The Certificates issued by HETAS and the notifications to Local Authority are important records demonstrating that work was done legally, by registered competent businesses and individuals and records that the registered business carried out the work in accordance with Building Regulations. When people sell their houses – the information about work carried out under the Building Regulations in England & Wales is used by Solicitors on their inquiry forms and failure to demonstrate compliant work where applicable, can adversely affect the sale of properties. The information gathered in this way may be used in any future home information pack (HIP) requirement; and Local Authorities are already required by law to hold such information
